Typography Poster. 2013. 12 x 18”.
For my first project in my typography class, we had to design a poster. I used one of my favorite quotes by Theodore Roosevelt. I wanted something clean and straight-to-the-point, so I layered two typefaces (while trying to match up the kerning) and applied a subtle texture. I’m pleased with the results!

Self Portrait. 2013. 12 x 16”.
I painted a self portrait today. I wanted to use a specific color palette and a soft value range. I also attempted to use a heavier brush stroke than I normally would since I ultimately would like to have a brushier painting style. This style is most noticeable in the hair and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I’ve been frustrated with my paintings lately, but I think I’ve redeemed myself with this one!

My album artwork for Shelton Harris x Tyler Dopps is now in print form! I had to make a new panel for the back part for the sleeve so that it would match. I think it turned out nicely. Check out their music at their website!
